Alvin Mankuro is a Congolese model who lives in Paris. He has been modelling for over a year now but decided to take it to the next level after several trips to Malaga, Zurich, London to Rome that inspired him that modelling is a career he would like to be in. Aside from Modelling, he is passionate about Basketball, Athletics, & a host of other sports. He has worked with amazing photographers such as Demarcus Allen, Steeve Aukingso & other European based photographers.

Allegra Gamalo Nzege is a 21 year old Congolese model who was born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland. Allegra started modelling at the age of 9 when a friend of her mom discovered her and gradually started to nurture her to the model she is today. Allegra uses modelling not just to gain valuable exposure in the fashion industry but to also connect with charity causes and organizations nationwide.

Samar Khoury is a British model who was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo to a Lebanese father and a Congolese mother. She speaks Arabic, English and French fluently. Samar’s exotic looks and her exciting personality have gotten her features in all sorts of magazines such as Amina Magazine, Black Hair, FAB Magazine, Femina Magazine, Miss Ebene, Pride Magazine, Winkler Magazine and our own digital magazine (Zen Magazine Africa). Samar’s hair shoot images were entered in the British Hairdressing and Afro Caribbean Hairdressing Awards and one of her images won Black Beauty Sensational Hair Award 2011. An African model with flair and passion!

I chose this name because we so often view people as statistics. These suffering women are numerous but are not numbers. Each is a woman, an individual human being with hopes and dreams and fears and obstacles and each is as precious as our own mothers, sisters, daughters.

Nick’s Fave Tastes stops at La Référence in Montreal and the rating was a 5.5/10 due to the poor customer service. The restaurant had no fufu (shocking), but the food it’s self was enjoyed for the most part. Ordered was plantains, fumbwa, ntaba, and kamundele. Yummmmm me!

This is a short film produced by African producer cedric Edo from Burkina Faso.It explores the growing trend of Afro Futurism, mixing genres, cultures and languages. Director Cedric Edo has created a compound of two very different languages, Lingala (the language spoken in Congo and Angola) and Japanese… Hasaki means the edge of the sword and Yasuda means from the south. It mixes African and Asian cultures in a story that is set in the future, 2100 to be exact. It has a strong Afro samurai feel to it.
